Course Objectives | This course aims at encouraging the student to think and produce ideas upon social responsibility of design and ethics; discusses on the position and responsibility of the designer on threefold concepts of mankind, nature and design. In addition , the course provides the student with academic background in order to equip them with a required maturity in sustainability and universal design issues. |

Course Description | The course covers a variety of readings of academic articles, discussions and presentations , film screening , evaluation of design work regarding to understanding of ethics, sustainability, environmental issues and activist movements related to different design disciplines . At the end of the course the students will be asked to write and present a manifestoe which they will develop upon as an alternative solution to propose a more ethical and sustainable future for design. |
